This page lists various support programs and offers of assistance from Bavarian universities and universities of applied sciences (HAW). Ukrainian students can find the programs offered here. Teachers and academics can quickly find contact persons at an institution near them.

    On Study in Bavaria, international students can find information about studying in Bavaria. Here you can find out about the various universities in Bavaria or search the database directly for degree programs. You can find out how to apply for a degree program and what leisure activities Bavaria has in store for you.

  • DAAD Ukraine (external link, opens in a new window)

    On the website "Studying in Germany", the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides information specifically for people from Ukraine. Among other things, it explains the German higher education system, the requirements for starting and continuing your studies and provides tips on Learning German and Financing your studies.

  • University of Regensburg (external link, opens in a new window)

    The University of Regensburg offers a guide for those seeking protection who wish to study, research or teach at the University of Regensburg. International students at the UR can also attend preparatory or study-related German courses.

  • OTH Regensburg (external link, opens in a new window)

    In addition to German courses, the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg also offers the opportunity for Ukrainian students to enrol as exchange students at the OTH.

  • OTH Amberg-Weiden (external link, opens in a new window)

    The East Bavarian Technical University of Applied Sciences Amberg-Weiden (OTH Amberg-Weiden) provides information to students from Ukraine via the Competence Centre Bavaria – Central and Eastern Europe (KOMO) and offers English-language degree programmes and German courses. OTH AW also works together with universities in Ukraine on various projects.

  • FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg (external link, opens in a new window)

    Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg offers support for Ukrainian students, researchers, teaching staff and employees of FAU partners in Ukraine. There has also been a cooperation agreement between FAU and Taras Shevchenko National University Kyiv since 2022.

  • Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences (external link, opens in a new window)

    Rosenheim <Technical University of Applied Sciences (TH Rosenheim) offers international students various Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in English. Students and guest students can attend German courses from level A1 to C1 at the Language Center.

  • Lutheran University of Applied Sciences Nürnberg (external link, opens in a new window)

    Lutheran University of Applied Sciences, in Nuremberg (EVHN) offers Ukrainian students counselling and the opportunity to attend German courses at Nuremberg Tech. Refugee students can also attend English-language courses for up to two semesters as part of a Studium Generale program as a start to their studies.

    The University of Bamberg informs and supports Ukrainian students and researchers with a special website. German courses (DHS) and English-language courses are also offered.

  • LMU Munich (external link, opens in a new window)

    Ludwigs-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) offers English-language Master's degree programs and maintains contacts with several Ukrainian partner universities. LMU also supports Ukrainian students and academics with questions about applications, administrative procedures and other issues, offers scholarships for international students and a special orientation program for refugees.

    The Technical University of Munich (TUM) helps students as well as teachers and researchers from Ukraine and offers personal advice as well as other support programs and networks. TUM also runs an integration program for people who were unable to start or continue their studies in Ukraine.

    The University of Passau supports affected students and researchers with information and offers of help. The University of Passau is also working on joint double master's degree programs with various Ukrainian partner universities.

  • University of Bayreuth (external link, opens in a new window)

    The University of Bayreuth offers refugee students and academics an initial point of contact as well as further resources and information via the Refugees Welcome platform. In addition to many years of cooperation with Ukraine, the University of Bayreuth has set up its own Bayreuth Bridge for Science funding program.

    Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg offers support to refugee students, researchers and employees of its partners in Ukraine, collected on a special website. JMU also offers various German courses and English-language degree programs.

  • KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (external link, opens in a new window)

    The Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (KU) provides refugee and at-risk students with all the information they need about studying as well as scholarship and funding programs on a special website. The KU also has a long-standing partnership with the Ukranian Catholic University in Lviv.

    Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT) supports international students with an information page on applying, studying and living in Bavaria. In addition, the HSWT is very active in international cooperation and maintains contacts with various partner universities in Ukraine, with which international Master's programs are also offered.

    Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT) offers students information and advice as well as various English-language Bachelor's and Master's degree programs. DIT also runs other programs specifically for international students, from German and preparatory courses to host families.

    The Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) offers extensive information about applying, studying and living at THWS, especially for those from Ukraine. German courses at various levels take place every semester at the Language Campus.
