Veranstaltung: Public Keynotes: Obedience to Authority – Milgram’s Legacy and Emerging Directions

How are people drawn into systems of violence – and what drives resistance?

As part of the international EASP Meeting “Obedience to Authority: Milgram’s Legacy and Emerging Directions,” two public keynote lectures bring together psychological, neuroscientific, and historical perspectives on obedience and violence. Emilie Caspar (Ghent University) will discuss insights ranging from interviews with genocide perpetrators to the neuroscience of obedience. Tanja Bührer (University of Salzburg) will examine obedience to authority and excessive violence in colonial contexts.
