Abstract

The talk will focus on the experiences of soldiers of the Ukrainian Galician Army during the typhus epidemic, violence against civilians, and the multi-front war of 1919. It examines how physical exhaustion, disease, and anti-Jewish pogroms shaped soldiers’ experiences, sense of self, and political decisions in revolutionary Ukraine.
