Special opening hours of the General Reading Room on weekends in July
To enable you to spend more time in the comparatively cool General Reading Room on hot days, the opening hours will be extended on weekends in July.
Saturday 08:00 - 20:00
Sunday 08:00 - 20:00
Summer opening hours in the reading rooms
Please note: As in recent years, there will be shortened summer opening hours in the reading rooms from 01.08. - 02.10.2026.
They will be announced under Opening hours (external link, opens in a new window) when they come into effect.
New version of the Library's User Regulations in effect
Please note that a new version of the Library's User Regulations (opens in a new window). (This PDF is not accessible) (in German only) is in effect.
In particular, the rules regarding beverages in the reading rooms have been changed.
Effective immediately, only water in leak-proof, sealable containers is permitted in the reading rooms.
