Take advantage of over 3,500 modern workstations in 13 reading rooms - ideal for focused work. Thanks to generous opening hours, you can organize your study day flexibly.
In your own office
Students can use carrels in the Textbook Collection throughout the day (opening hours). One carrel is available for external users. You can use a carrel for six months to write your thesis. Contact: claudia.zwicknagl(at)ur.de. (opens your email program)

Relax & exchange ideas
The Outdoor Reading Area located next to Café Zentral (external link, opens in a new window) on the gallery of the Central Library invites you to relax and chat. It is open during the summer months, weather permitting.
Power for working and studying
Full of energy
Many workhave power connections. Laptop charging stations are available in the reading rooms Philosophicum 2, Economics and Chemistry.
Without ballast
Use lockers for a day, a month or a semester. Keys for daily and monthly lockers and laptop charging stations are available at the reading room counters. Keys for semester lockers in the Central Library are available at the Loans desk (external link, opens in a new window).
Ergonomic
Learn and keep moving at the same time with ergonomically designed workstations in the library: with height-adjustable tables, laptop stands, wedge-shaped ball cushions and movement stools, workstations with treadmills or ergometers.
Accessible working and studying
The library's learning spaces are accessible. Special workstations are available for people with visual impairments.
Our team will support you individually if you have health restrictions.

Use our digitization services eBooks on Demand (external link, opens in a new window) and the MultiMediaCenter as well as our scanning and copying services.
