Research & Borrowing

  • The University Library offers comprehensive support for your research in various catalogs and databases as well as for different types of media and topics.
  • In the reading rooms of the Regensburg University Library, the books are arranged systematically according to subject area, i.e. all works on a particular subject are displayed next to each other. You can gain an overview of the available holdings by "browsing" the shelves.
  • Most printed media can be borrowed with a valid library card.
Literature that is not available in Regensburg can be ordered via inter-library loan.
  • Find out more about accessing e-media, including the use of VPN and the WiFi "Eduroam".
  • You are also welcome to suggest literature for purchase.

Learning tools

AMBOSS

AMBOSS combines a learning program and reference work into an adaptive knowledge platform and is suitable for all pre-clinical and clinical students.
With the campus license, it is possible to cross up to 500 questions (Physikum) or 700 questions (Hammerexamen) within a 30-day window. Access to the flashcards is unrestricted.

The Effigos 3D Anatomy (external link, opens in a new window) extension is also included in the campus license. This is an additional function for interactive learning of anatomy. The high-quality 3D models can be rotated, moved and enlarged as required. Both individual structures and groups of structures can be faded in and out or displayed transparently. Special details (substructures) can also be displayed. Additional functions such as searching, cutting and automatic labelling round off the anatomy tool.

Personal registration and login to the campus license are required for use. A personal upgrade can be purchased, which allows unlimited cross-sectioning.

Access via https://www.amboss.com/ (external link, opens in a new window) or via the entry in the database information system (external link, opens in a new window). Here you will also find instructions for registering and logging in to the campus license.

To use the university license, you must be connected to the university network (on campus or via VPN (external link, opens in a new window)).

Anatomy models in the reading room

Various anatomy models are available in the reading room: dismountable skull models as well as movable hand, knee and foot models.
You can use the models on site in the reading room. One of each model can also be borrowed overnight/weekend (also to be found in the Regensburg catalog (external link, opens in a new window)).
