University and Hospital Staff

 

Please complete the Library card application for employees (external link, opens in a new window)  (accessible only within the university network) and attach your employment contract or the accompanying letter to the certificate. 
The library card will be sent by in-house mail.

 

Library card renewals are possible by e-mail: ausweis.ub​(at)​ur.de (opens your email program).

You can also use licensed e-media without a library card. Log in with your Computer Center account on a university computer, the WiFi "eduroam" or via VPN. 

Special account for professors

 

If you as a professor would like to delegate library-related tasks such as book orders or reservations to third parties like student assistants or secretarial staff, you can apply for a special account - independent of your personal library account. The applicant is responsible for this special account. 

For these special accounts, authetication is not necessary via the personal Computer Center account but rather with a user number and password, just like for external users.  A separate library card is issued for the respective professorship.

How to apply for a special account

Please send an e-mail to ausweis.ub(at)ur.de (external link, opens in a new window) with the following information:

  • Name of the account owner (professor)
  • E-mail address for library notifications (e.g. return reminders)
  • General contact details (e.g. of the secretary's office)

External users

 

External users, for example members of the OTH Regensburg, pupils and other interested persons, are kindly asked to complete the Application for a library card for external users (external link, opens in a new window) .

 

The library card is free of charge. We will inform you about the collection.

Renewal of the library card is possible by e-mail ausweis.ub​(at)​ur.de (opens your email program) and on site at the information desk  (opening hours).

You can use licensed e-media on a computer in the Information Center.

If you are unable to use the University Library of Regensburg on site, you can obtain a library card from a (public) library in your area. These libraries usually offer inter-library loan services for media from academic libraries. 

Please inform us immediately about your address change or the loss of your library card.

How do I log in to my account? 

Log in to the catalog under "Login" in the upper right corner to order media and to view your account.

Students and staff of the University of Regensburg log in using their CC account.

External users log in using the library number on their library card and their password. 

 If you are logging in for the first time or have forgotten your password, click "Create new Password" in the login window. You will receive an e-mail to change your password. 

You can change your password at any time in your account in the library catalog under "Profile".

I've forgotten my password. What to do? 

Students and staff of the University of Regensburg: please contact the Computer Center, if you have forgotten your password for your CC account.

External users: select "Login for external users" and click on "Create new Password". 

Enter your library number and select "Create new Password". You will receive an e-mail with a link to create a new password.

Why is my library card blocked?

There are several reasons why your library card may be blocked:

  • Your library card has expired. It is valid for one year and can be renewed.
  • The loan period of your borrowed items has expired or you have not yet paid your reminder.
  • Mail sent to you by the University Library has been returned as undeliverable.

How can I renew my library card? 

External users:

To renew your library card please come to the information desk in the Information Center (opening hours) or contact us by e-mail:  ausweis.ub​(at)​ur.de (opens your email program).

University employees:

Please bring your library card and your current employment contract to the information desk in the Information Center (opening hours) or send us the page of your employment contract with your name and current contract duration by e-mail to ausweis.ub​(at)​ur.de (opens your email program).

What should I do if I have lost my library card?

Please send an e-mail to ausweis.ub​(at)​ur.de (opens your email program), to have your library card blocked. We will gladly issue you a new library card.

Can I use the library without a library card? 

Books in our reading rooms are freely accessible and can be used on site.

With our book scanners you can scan for free and save scans to your own USB stick.

If you need books from our stacks, please contact us by e-mail at info.ub​(at)​ur.de (opens your email program) a few days before your visit. We will make the books available for you to view on site at the information desk in the Information Center.

If you frequently need media from the University Library, please apply for a library card. This allows you to order media yourself via the catalog.
