Using e-media via Shibboleth

With some providers (see list below) the use of e-books and other e-media is possible not only by logging in to the university network via VPN, but also by logging in with your own Computer Center (CC) account. The registration with your CC account works via Shibboleth. Shibboleth is a method for distributed authentication (Who are you?) and authorization (What are you allowed to access?) for web applications.

With Shibboleth, employees and students of the University of Regensburg can also access the licensed electronic media of the University Library outside of VPN with some providers (see below). You only have to authenticate yourself once via the respective provider's site at your home institution using your CC ID to gain access to the licensed content (web-based Single-Sign-On).
