Sports Activities in the City

What sports activities are available in the city?

Move & Connect / Active Together

In addition to the university’s sports center, there are also many sports activities available in the city. Many of these activities are free and require no registration!

You can find a complete list of all activities on the City of Regensburg’s website.

The Project Move & Connect is, in collaboration with the Sports Center of the University of Regensburg, the CampusAsyl e.V., and the City of Regensburg, bringinng people together across generations and cultures through sports. The project specifically targets groups particularly affected by loneliness, including (international) students, refugees, people with an immigrant background, and older residents.

Sports Clubs in the City

If you’re looking for more intensive sports activities and scheduled training sessions, sports clubs might be a good option. However, membership in a sports club costs money. In most cases, monthly membership isn’t available; instead, you have to pay an annual fee. On the other hand, sports clubs are often much more affordable than gyms and offer a wider variety of sports activities. Membership in a sports club also offers much more than just sports. There are always joint sports festivals, excursions, and other activities to foster a sense of community among members.

The City of Regensburg website features a portal with a search function for sports clubs. You’re sure to find a suitable sports club for yourself here:  Stadt Regensburg - Sport von A-Z (external link, opens in a new window)
